As many of you are no doubt aware, a second iteration of the hate convoy that occupied our streets in February is en route to Ottawa for this weekend, this time going by the name Rolling Thunder Ottawa.

Following the enthusiasm for action expressed during the community safety briefing on Monday night, members of the CSO steering committee have decided to hold an unwelcoming party to greet them.

The Unwelcoming Party will be held at Strathcona Park. We have chosen this location both to show support for Vanier residents who suffered greatly during the original convoy occupation, as well as to ensure safety for rally participants.

There may be a march. Bring yourselves, your friends and neighbours, your masks, and any signs showing support for our friends in Vanier and our opposition to another hate convoy.

Other actions may be being planned, both to support our communities and to oppose another hate convoy, including actions in Centretown. Stay tuned for more updates as they emerge.
