Join us Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM on Parliament Hill to press the Canadian government to take a clear stand demanding an immediate ceasefire in Israel and Palestine.
Organized by a coalition of unions, humanitarian groups, faith communities and civil society organizations, the Ottawa protest is one of more than a dozen across the country aimed at putting pressure on the Trudeau government to take a principled stance in defence of humanity and international law, by demanding an end to the bombing and siege of Gaza and respect for the rights of all civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories and Israel. Sponsors include PSAC and CUPE, Oxfam and the Canadian Council of Refugees, Independent Jewish Voices and the Canadian Coalition of Palestinian Organizations.
After more than a month of atrocities and war crimes, we can’t let the Canadian government continue to dodge its responsibilities under the Geneva conventions, mouthing platitudes about respecting international law while failing to condemn genocide and ethnic cleansing. Canada must join the global call for a ceasefire NOW!
